About the Book

This book has shown that Internet governance is already taking place in a variety of localized international regimes, each driven by a distinct politics. While any sweeping global governance regime for the Internet simultaneously raises dangers of intrusive over centralization and irrelevance, we think that the problems, loopholes, and unsavory politics associated with certain aspects of the existing evolution of governance makes it worthwhile to take a more comprehensive lookat the system as a whole. The book also created a framework for the identification of public policy issues associated with Internet governance, and looked in greater detail at fourspecificareas of policy.
