About the Book

In this book, the topics are presented in the same order as in the textbook. The problems concern two content areas: Linear Algebra, and Analytical Geometry. After reading this book, a student should be ables to solve linear equations and to perform the basic operations on numbers and algebraic expressions. The Linear Algebra tests will reveal readers' knowledge and skills, readers' abilities in interpreting symbols, justifying statements and constructing proofs. Readers should be able to apply the properties of determinants and matrix operations and solve linear systems of equations. The Analytical Geometry topics include different forms of equations of straight lines and planes; angles between simple figures; the curves of the second order. This book will prove definitive and ideal reference tool to research scholars, academicians and educationists.

Bennie Marsh is a professor of mathematics. He graduated with a specialty in Analytic Geometry. He taught more than 12 years. He is the author of the well-established text Number Theory, Statics and Analytical Geometry, Linear Algebra and Analytic Geometry and has led an active career discovering fascinating phenomena in his chosen field— number theory. Perhaps his greatest discovery, however, was not solely one in the intellectual realm but in the physical world too. He was an internationally renowned mathematician who played a central role in the anti-Soviet dissident movement. His textbooks on algebraic geometry were translated into English and regarded as classics in thefield. Frankie Murray is a professor at the Dept, of Mathematics. He is the recipient award for the year excellence in mathematical teaching and research. He has taught at Davidson College, where he holds the position of professor of mathematics. Atypical academic year sees him teaching courses in calculus, topology, and geometry. Frankie Murray also enjoys mathematical history, and his annual History of Mathematics seminar is a perennial favorite with Davidson mathematics majors. He has published numerous articles on undergraduate mathematics, as well as research papers in his specialty, differential geometry. He is currently a member of the editorial board for the MAA Problem Book series and is a reviewer for Mathematical Review. Frankie Murray has been the Programme Director of Mathematics Training andTalent Search Programme for the last several years.
